In a tradition started in 2005, Incarnate Word Academy students unloaded two busloads of gifts, filling a conference room, at Child Protective Services. The donated presents were given to children assisted by the state agency that investigates reports of abuse and neglected of children.

Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, Apostolic Nuncio to the Democratic Rebublic of Congo was the main celebrant.

The Corpus Christi Cathedral hosted three performances of “A Cathedral Holiday New Year’s Spectacular! The Joy of Christmas” on Jan. 2 and 3. Choir director Lee Gwozdz said that more than 200 singers from the five cathedral choirs performed along with the members of the Corpus Christi Symphony. The Cathedral's 1,000 seats were filled to capacity for all three performances.

The Office of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Corpus Christi held a TOUGH (Teens Open Up to God's Holiness) Retreat for the first time at the Pax Christi Liturgical Retreat Center on Dec. 19-21, 2014, under the direction of Aguie Soliz and Maire Bustamante. The two co-coordinators led 27 youth, young adults and adult staff volunteers to receive 96 teen participants from the different parishes throughout the diocese.
