Students from St. Joseph School in Alice dressed up as doctors, cowboys, firemen, chefs and much more on Feb. 4. They were treated to talks from representatives of the Fire Department, Southwest Airlines, Channel 3, Pax Christi Convent, a Dentist Office and more. There were seminarians, a deacon and sisters who spoke to students about vocations to religious life. After career day students gathered in the prayer garden to pray the rosary.

Grandparents had lunch with their grandchildren at Central Catholic Elementary School on Feb. 4. Many of the visitors attended the schools book fair in celebration of National Catholic Schools Week.

Ss. Cyril and Methodius School held a Fitness Challenge for all grades throughout the day on Feb. 3 in honor of National Catholic Schools Week. Some students wore their favorite sports team shirt as Coach Gonzalez and volunteers led students to seven different exercise challenges each lasting two minutes.

Family members of Most Precious Blood students were treated to a literary parade on Feb. 3. Students from K3-5th grade dressed as there favorite character from a book they had read as a class. They paraded into the school cafeteria as Principal Nelda Bazan introduced the class and the book being represented.

Bishop Michael Mulvey, Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody, Mayor Nelda Martinez, principals and chancery employees attended the Office of Catholic Schools Open House on Feb. 1, during National Catholic Schools Week. Mayor Martinez read the proclamation for Catholic Schools Week. Student artwork and essays were on display and there were door prizes and refreshments as St. John Paul II students provided the background music.
