Msgr. Arnold (Buzz) Anthony Anders, the longest serving priest in the Diocese of Victoria went to his Eternal Reward on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.   Father Anders, as he preferred to be called was born in Dubina, Texas on December 11, 1926 to Frank and Annie Guenther Anders. 

Sister Victoria Pastrano, MCDP, went peacefully home to God on July 10, 2020, in San Antonio, TX at the age of 89 years.  

Deacon Amos “Stanley” Millsap, a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church, passed away on May 15, 2020, at the age of 89.

Msgr. Thomas McGettrick passed away peacefully on Feb. 9. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Vigil services will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at Corpus Christi Cathedral located at 505 N. Upper Broadway St. in Corpus Christi. The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Cathedral.

Father Thomas P. O’Donovan, 77, a priest with the Diocese of Corpus Christi since July 27, 1970, died on Sept. 6. He was Born to Dermot and Joan O’Donovan in Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland on March 12, 1942.

Deacon George Joseph Wiest, 82, a deacon in the Diocese of Corpus Christi who served at Sacred Heart parish in Rockport died on Tuesday, May 14.

Sister Kathleen McDonagh (Catherine Ann) died Nov. 13, 2018. She was born in Dublin, Ireland, August 12, 1930, to Francis McDonagh and May Duignan. She entered the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament Congregation on Aug. 26, 1947, at age 17.

After 70 years of consecrated life as a sister of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, Sister Mary Stella Barrientes, IWBS passed away on Thursday, June 21. Sister enjoyed a long and full life and will be dearly missed.  

Sister Denise Cassidy, IWBS went home to God on June 4. She had recently celebrated 60 years of consecrated life.

Father Charles Doherty, who served as pastor at Our Lady of Assumption parish in Ingleside and in the Diocese of Corpus Christi for many years, died May 9. He had recently celebrated his 90th birthday at Our Lady of Assumption Parish on Oct. 15, 2017.

Father Ralph O. Jones died Feb. 13, after a seven-year fight against cancer. Father Jones served as priest-In-charge of Stella Maris Chapel in Lamar.

Sister Helen Dolores Losleben, who taught at St. John School in Robstown from 1979-84, died on Sept. 12 in Mother Theodore Hall, St. Mary-of-the-Woods. She was born in Anaheim, California on Feb. 15 to George and Ida Kaiser Losleben and was baptized Helen Marie.

Sister Richard Bussing, 95, died on Sept. 5, in Mother Theodore Hall, St. Mary-of-the-Woods. She taught at St. John School in Robstown from 1955-59 and1966-68.

In Memoriam of Father Paul Peter Antony, who served in the Diocese of Corpus Christi for 17 years, died in his home in India on Tuesday, Aug. 1. Funeral services were held in India.

Father Eduardo "Eddie" H. García passed away at his home at the St. John Vianney Residence for Priests in Corpus Christi on the evening of Nov. 14. Father García was born in Alice on Oct. 24, 1955 and baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice.

Pax Christi Sister Consuelo Flores Zamora, 88, died on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Corpus Christi. Sister Consuelo, during her 70 years in religious life, served in orphanages in México, Laredo and the Residence for Girls in Corpus Christi. She was also a mistress of novices and postulants as well as evangelization ministry and pastoral work in Querétaro, México.

Msgr. Gregory S. "Rory" Deane died in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 6. Msgr. Dean had served the Diocese of Corpus Christi for more than 60 years, having started his priestly ministry on June 6, 1954.

Msgr. William Celestine Murray died Thursday, Feb. 25, at Angel Bright Nursing Home in Corpus Christi. Msgr. Murray was born on April 3, 1931 in Waterford, Ireland and served the Diocese of Corpus Christi for 60 years.
