Bishop Michael Mulvey will celebrate the Red Mass on Wednesday, October 8th at 6:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 3350 South Alameda in Corpus Christi. The Red Mass invites all the faithful to come together to pray for God’s guidance and blessings on those in the legal and judicial community as they pursue justice. The Red Mass is a tradition that dates back to the 13th century. The first Red Mass is believed to have been celebrated in the Cathedral of Paris in the year 1245. Today, over twenty-five dioceses throughout the United States, including our diocese, celebrate a Red Mass. This year, Most Reverend William Michael Mulvey, Bishop of Corpus Christi, will be the keynote speaker. The Red Mass will be followed by a reception.
