Chancellor

Marc Cervantes, a civil lawyer, is Chancellor and General Counsel for the Diocese of Corpus Christi. The Chancellor is the official notary for the Diocese of Corpus Christi, establishing the authenticity of the acts of the diocesan curia and ensuring that such acts as well as historical documents are safely stored in the diocesan archives. The Chancellor also serves as the Bishop’s delegate for canonical and civil law matters, which includes oversight of the Safe Environment Program.

In addition, the Chancellor shares in the power of governance in a diocese by issuing decrees and rescripts. The office of the chancellor helps disseminate information to clergy, parishes, and the Catholic faithful that may be beneficial to the people of the diocese.
