Any priest, deacon, vowed religious, or lay person residing outside the Diocese of Corpus Christi who is invited or requests to speak or teach on matters of faith, morals, or liturgy — at a parish, Catholic school, religious house, or diocesan event — must first obtain permission in accordance with the following principles (cf. CIC 386.1, 812, 823). To facilitate this process, please submit the below documentation or contact the Chancellor’s Office.
The following are required for outside speakers- to be reviewed and approved prior to the speaking engagement.
Requirements for Lay Speakers:
A letter of Good Standing from the speaker’s parish priest is required
Proof of Safe Environment (completion and valid)
The title and summary of the proposed talk(s)
Requirements for Clergy Presenters
A current Letter of Suitability issued by their diocese (view sample letter)
A title and brief summary/description of the proposed presentation for prior approval
Fidelity to Catholic Teaching. All preaching, teaching, catechesis, spiritual direction, and ministerial activities shall be fully consistent with Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church as expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the documents of the Holy See.
