      7. DIGNITY: WE RESPECT THE WORTH OF EVERY PERSON AND HONOR DIVERSITY.

Reasons to Choose Our Catholic Schools
    • Top 5 Reasons to Choose Our Catholic Schools

      5.  ENVIRONMENT. Students are a top priority in every one of our 13 Catholic Schools across the Diocese of Corpus Christi, and you’ll know it when you walk through our doors. We offer a genuinely Christ‑centered learning opportunity, where consideration for one another results in an encouraging, uplifting daily atmosphere. Parents rated our Catholic Schools exemplary in this category in the current year, citing the “caring, nurturing environment” with “minimal disciplinary issues,” solidifying their confidence in our schools as the best places for students to learn and grow.

      4.  ACTIVITIES. Catholic Schools are uniquely designed to develop each student’s potential both in and beyond the classroom. Multiple extracurricular activities are in place at every one of our 13 campuses, and that ever-expanding list includes academic and athletic programs. Students in 4th – 6th grades participate in our Parochial Sports League, with even greater selection at the high school level including football, baseball, softball, track, swimming, volleyball, wrestling, golf, tennis, and more. Students can participate in the National Honor Society, fine arts (music/band, choir, theatre), cheerleading, mock trial, student council, robotics club, and other organizations, not to mention many at the elementary level. Offerings vary by campus, but one constant is true for all: Every activity is instituted with the same impactful approach of providing Christ-centered learning and engagement for every student, every day.

      3.  COMMUNITY. True to their mission, our Catholic Schools foster learning in partnership with parents, parish and school leaders, and the greater, global community. These partners are strong advocates for our students, creating a support system where children become young adults who have developed a strong sense of community with demonstrated citizenship. Our parents and staff work together, equally invested in their student(s), and all participate in school efforts to give back to those in need. In addition, our community pays it forward every day, as Christ-centered learning instills a focus on doing more for others than for ourselves. As stated many times in parent surveys this year, there is a “closeness” in our schools where “my child is recognized and greeted by name … (and it) feels like a big family.”

      2.  ACADEMICS. Consider that 99% of our high school graduates are accepted to colleges/universities, or the unparalleled success of our former graduates across elementary and secondary grade levels, and you’ll soon discover that Catholic Schools are easily making the grade. Parents rated our schools exemplary in this category this year as well, citing an “incredible academic experience” with “high expectations” for student success. As private, religious institutions for learning, we are not tied to standardized testing requirements in public schools, and instead, evaluate students using a nationally-recognized and proven effective testing platform better rated to gauge student aptitudes and learning abilities. This system has proven successful in preparing our students for college entrance exams (SAT, ACT, etc.), and our graduates have scored high marks. Our high schools offer dual-credit college courses and advanced placement programs. Individual instruction is provided for students who may struggle with certain subjects, available from a number of our qualified educators.

      1.  FAITH. There is no question that the primary reason for our student's success is also the primary difference between Catholic Schools and other options for education: Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our students, staff, and communities benefit most from the foundation of faith provided through Catholic education. We promote and exemplify the teachings of Christ among our students, and encourage them to do the same, thereby developing young people who are committed to discipleship and become the servant leaders of tomorrow. There is no requirement nor expectation that our students attend a Catholic church, rather we have many students who practice other faiths in addition to those who attend Catholic churches in our diocese. We are one Body in Christ as school communities and parishes, and as such we learn together with the best interest of our students in mind and at heart. Together, we grow in Christ. Together, we let them shine.

      Consider Catholic Schools
      Let Them Shine

    Formation of Students
    • Formation of Students

Catholic schools offer an environment rooted in Gospel values. Central to the mission of Catholic education is the integral formation of students’ minds, hearts, and bodies in truth and holiness.

Our students experience a myriad of experiences that help them to grow in their faith and develop virtues and values including but not limited to:
      • A vibrant school community where Christ is the Teacher
      • Thanksgiving and worship of God is cultivated
      • Gospel messages are proclaimed
      • Service opportunities expressing care and concern for others help in the development of a missionary spirit
      • The beautiful balance of science, faith and reason become apparent to our youth as they learn the complementary equilibrium of ideas and truth
      • An important introduction of students to Jesus Christ assists them as they grow in their love for him
      • Through catechesis, the celebration of the Sacraments, and diligent study of the world, students gain an appreciation of the Creator and creation
      • Class retreats inspire prayer and reflective practices and community building opportunities
      • The Mass forms the single most important activity of Catholic schools, since the Holy Eucharist is proclaimed through out the Church as “the source and summit of the Christian life”

Our Catholic schools serve as priceless treasures and an indispensable instrument of evangelization. Here, in our Catholic schools, we form the future leaders of our Church, missionary disciples and future saints.

“Catholic schools give soul to our globalized world and radiates the promise of Christian salvation.”

      Pope Francis
