“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19)Through Our Lady of Guadalupe Institute for Evangelization and Catechesis, together we will reinforce the kerygma (Greek for “proclamation”) of the Gospel and prayerfully empower its intentional diffusion through evangelization. While strengthening our Church community in the Diocese of Corpus Christi, we will grow as well-catechized evangelists guided by the Holy Spirit, grounded in Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture, and freshly motivated unto ministerial service.

This course will strengthen awareness of the message of the “kerygma” (Greek for “proclamation”) of the Gospel as the “why” of our lives as Catholics. We will consider the roles of evangelization and catechesis in our lives, as well as what evangelization looks like in families, among friends, at work, at the parish, and beyond. This, like all courses in the Institute, will be a balanced blend of teachings, group discussion, prayer and Lectio Divina reflections over Sacred Scripture.

Learn how Christians have prayed across two thousand years of history and learn how to make those ancient practices your own. We’ll look to the wisdom of the saints, dive into scriptural reflection through Lectio Divina, and practice entering into quiet contemplation. Whether you are starting from scratch or looking to revitalize your daily routine, this class offers practical tools to help you build a deeper, more personal relationship with God. This, like all courses in the Institute, will be a balanced blend of teachings, group discussion, prayer and Lectio Divina reflections over Sacred Scripture.

In this course, we will deepen our understanding of how the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and the Holy Eucharist—unite us to Christ and incorporate us more fully into the life and mission of his Church. We will explore the theology and scriptural roots of each sacrament to better appreciate the Church's celebration of these sacraments. This, like all courses in the Institute, will be a balanced blend of teachings, group discussion, prayer and Lectio Divina reflections over Sacred Scripture.

In this course we will learn the stages of evangelization and discipleship (as presented in the National Directory of Catechesis). In learning these stages we will explore how to implement them in ministry especially ministry to the youth. This, like all courses in the Institute, will be a balanced blend of teachings, group discussion, prayer and Lectio Divina reflections over Sacred Scripture.
