Procedures and Requirements
- Applicants for a Kenedy Foundation Construction Grant must submit a minimum of three proposals from different contractors.
- If your grant is approved, you will be working with our Construction Department and Grants Coordinator (Orlando Zepeda, Jill Hundley, and Sandra Castellanos) to facilitate the funding process.
- For grant requests exceeding $50,000, a formal letter must be submitted to the Bishop. This letter should request permission for the project, provide a detailed description of the proposed work, and explain how the project will be funded if the full grant amount is not awarded.
- For any construction project over $50,000, the Kenedy Foundation requires a copy of a signed contract.
- Additionally, any project exceeding $20,000 requires a Diocesan Contract with the Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
- Parishes planning new construction or remodeling must first write to the Bishop to state their intent and present their current financial status to establish a project budget. Preliminary authorization from the Bishop is required before proceeding with the project.
- Work on projects funded by the Kenedy Foundation may not begin until the grant funds have been received from the Foundation.
- Please note that all selected contractors must be qualified and comply with the insurance and bonding requirements of the Diocese.
