Fr. Ryan Stawaisz, a priest from the Diocese of Galveston-Houston who died of cancer at the age of 31, continues to inspire people and foster vocations. The movie, directed by Cimela Kidonakis, is now being shown nationwide in selected theaters: “We are so excited to announce that Love God’s Will is going to be shown in Portland,” says Cimela Kidonakis. B&B Northshore 8, where the movie had a special screening one Sunday, will feature the new cut of the documentary that contains new stories about how Fr. Ryan touched lives.
The 70-minute version debuted three weeks ago, starting in Lafayette, Louisiana, San Antonio, and Omaha. It is still running in Lafayette, breaking records, and going strong in College Station, Houston, and Conroe. Along with Portland, it will also open in Dallas and Pennsylvania.
It is a dream come true for Cimela and her team from Palomitas Film: “After the movie came out, so many people shared stories with us and Fr. Ryan’s parents,” she shared. Some of these stories, like one about a baby he baptized in the NICU, made it into the movie. “A lot of viewers say that these additions are their favorites.” Those stories highlight the incredible power of the sacraments.
B&B Northshore 8 will show Love God’s Will from Thursday, May 15 to Wednesday, May 21, daily at 1 pm and 7 pm. If there’s a lot of demand, there might be an extension.
