Altar servers help celebrate Mass in Latin

Father Downey expresses appreciation to servers, their adult leaders and parents at St. Michael's Latin Mass Community.

Altar Servers for St. Michael’s Latin Mass Community were honored at a gathering of the community on Dec. 11. Father Don Downey, JCL spoke of the community’s appreciation to the boys and their parents.

He also thanked assistant altar server coordinator Rudy Bayardo for his valuable help at weekly and daily Masses. “Rudy always knows exactly what to do,” Father Downey said.

The youngsters, ages 10 and 11, serve Holy Mass in Latin every Sunday for both the High and Low Masses celebrated for the community at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Retirement Home where the group meets.
