Gaza claims state wrestling title

Jared Gaza sealed a win at the TAPPS State Wrestling Championship with three pins, becoming St. John Paul II High School's first wrestling state champion. Gaza is now a two-time All-State Wrestler and a state champion. This week he will be representing the Centurions as the number one ranked wrestler in Texas at nationals.

Apolonio Esquivel made it to the quarterfinals at the state meet held at San Antonio Christian on Feb. 20. Esquivel was two-seconds away from advancing to the third place bracket.
