Golden glass, small bronze tiles, and some black accents: the artwork for the new design of Corpus Christi Cathedral is underway! The tiles that will surround the baptismal font are already assembled, along with the mosaic tiles that will highlight the stairs leading to the altar.
While the interior renovations of the Cathedral are underway (workers are currently repairing cracks in the walls), the Arte Poli Studio team in Verona diligently focuses on the artistic elements of the new design. Our Legal Counsel, Marc Cervantes, recently visited Italy and stopped by the studio to take a look at the progress. “Beautiful, just beautiful,” was his comment. The team is presently working on all the small glass tiles that will form the background of the apse, as well as the two statues of Mary and Joseph on the left and right.
The doors, which will showcase different scenes from the Bible, are already taking shape, but they don’t yet have the bronze finish that will give them their distinctive look. After the work on the walls, the new sound system will be installed, and later, the artistic components will be shipped from Italy in the fall. The renovation is scheduled for completion at the beginning of 2026.
