Bishop Michael Mulvey celebrated a Mass on Saturday morning to welcome 17 aspirants to the Permanent Diaconate. During the Mass, the Bishop accepted each one of them in the name of the Church to start their formation. They will have lessons in theology, philosophy and pastoral ministry. Fr. Joseph Lopez, together with Deacon Jesse Hinojosa and Deacon Shaunessy, leads their formation.
